Admission

When you arrive at Sinai, you will be given a wrist identification bracelet. Throughout your stay, we strive to accommodate your needs, including room preferences. Please know that when all beds are full, we cannot meet private room requests. Be assured that when a private room becomes available, you will be transferred as soon as possible.

What to Bring

For your comfort, bring any personal items you will need including night clothing, a robe, slippers, toiletries, grooming aidIamge of Sinai's Lobbys, and reading and writing materials. Please leave valuables, large amounts of cash (greater than $20) and credit cards at home. For peace of mind, you may place valuables in safety deposit boxes provided by the Security department at Sinai at no charge. Valuables can be placed in or retrieved from the boxes 24 hours a day. Sinai is not responsible for any belongings you decide to keep with you in your room. For safety reasons, please do not bring electrical appliances, including radios, televisions, hair dryers, curling irons or electric razors. These items present safety hazards that might interfere with the hospital's medical equipment.

Please do not wrap your personal items in tissues or napkins or leave them on meal trays or on your bed; they may be discarded accidentally. Place glasses or dentures in containers from home and keep them on your bedside table or in the drawer. If you need a container for your dentures, please ask your nurse. Sinai is not responsible for dentures, eyeglasses, hearing aids or any prosthetic device.

Medications

In most cases, the medications that you require in the hospital are provided by the inpatient pharmacy. However, there may be instances in which you may need or want to use your medication supply from home. These instances might include medications already purchased, contraceptive agents, investigational agents and medications that are not on the Sinai formulary. If you do bring medicine from home, please let your nurse know. We ask that you do not take any medicine other than what is given by your nurses, unless approved by your physician.
